TROPISM Hat Pattern PDF
TROPISM: n. : An involuntary orienting response.
Shifts happen. We are not static beings and we adjust, often automatically, quietly, reorienting ourselves in the blink of an eye. Inspired by Overshot weaving techniques and my observations of the behavior of plants on my flower farm, the undulating shapes and color changes in the Tropism Hat echo these shifts. This hat coordinates with the Tropism Fingerless Mitts, also available as a downloadable PDF.
The first pattern released by Justine McFarland combines stunning colorwork and traditional knitting techniques to create a flattering and warm knitted hat. Designed for Tupelo’s new yarn line Felsenmeer, a certified organic fine merino worsted weight yarn, dyed in small batches using low-impact dyes right in Justine’s studio in Virginia.
