There is honor in knowing where and who and how. There is power in recognizing and seeking art and craft in our everyday lives.
Cloth has such a rich history. My favorite part is how fibers passed through expert hand after expert hand to become objects of necessity and expression. From farm to internationally recognized pattern, textiles connect us to every part of the world. My work reaches for the heart of this time-honored fine craft by exploring, honoring, and bringing forward all the steps and hands involved in the making of slow cloth, doing so with sustainability at the root.
The Transcendence collection released April 2020, uses movement and color to acknowledge a journey, the sifting and sorting of details that blend history together. It’s a story, woven through time : a slow trudge in the rain, the gritting of teeth, the feeling of moss between my toes, fog in the morning, a raindrop sliding down the curve of my spine, the return of my breath, the weightlessness of floating on the lake.
